In the summer of 2008

we gathered together as a church over four Saturdays to seek what was God’s plan for this new chapter in the life of St Luke's. Through these times of prayer we felt God call us to what the heart of St Luke's should be.

We believe St Luke's is called to be …

A church of worship– a church which engages in passionate, Spirit-filled worship of God, both on a Sunday and through the week. Praise and prayer is at the heart of our worship of God and our morning prayer meetings are a focal point through the week.

A church of witness – a church that shares the good news of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection with those who don’t yet follow him. We are called to share the love of God both in word and action, well aware that people are more likely to listen to us “speak good news” when they see us “being good news”.

A church of welcome– a church of welcome to people from all nations, races and backgrounds. We are called to make a place where the lost, the lonely and the hurting can find a place of acceptance and love.
