Louisa oversees our vital work with children and families at St Luke's. On Sundays Louisa heads up our Kids Church, putting together teaching material and resources that allow our children to engage with biblical truths, helping them lay down solid foundations for faith. Many parents and children's lives have been blessed and touched by Louisa's ministry. On Wednesdays Louisa leads Mums and Little Ones (M.A.L.O), building loving relationships with parents and mums to be. Louisa is also our safeguarding officer and handles DBS checks for all our volunteers.
Where are you from?
I was born and brought up in London, and lived in Durham for Uni. I have visited and worked in Argentina (where my dad and grandmother were born) and Paris as part of my language studies. In recent years I've loved exploring Seoul, South Korea, while visiting my in-laws.
What brought you to St Luke's?
After doing the Alpha course in Durham I was looking for a place to worship God back in London, and walked into my nearest church, about 13 years ago. I found a people of such committed faith, warmth and love for one another, across nationalities, backgrounds and generations, and I never left!
Why do you love Jesus?
For the power of His love and acceptance, and for the great peace He offers.
Favourite thing/s to do in London?
Seeing a ballet or a comedy in the West End, or relaxing on the grass somewhere serene like Fulham Palace.
Interesting fact about yourself...
I used to be a midwife - an amazing and humbling time in my life, which has left me with lots of precious memories.
You in a nutshell...
Follower of Jesus, wife and mother, seeking to be an includer, a better listener (especially loving children's questions!) and a Kingdom-builder.
